Have you ever wondered what it would be like to combine your favorite breakfasts into one?
What if coffee is your favorite thing in the morning?! But at the same time you are a healthy little nut and want to start your day protein rich?!
Also, you are on the go and want to consume something healthy and delicious that fills you up and counts as a full grown breakfast. Well, I was wondering the same and created this awesome Green Smoothie Recipe for us! Green always sounds so right anyways 🙂
I was surprised how simple it was to create a quick and easy little “pick-me-up”. And the best thing about it? It’s ready in only 5 minutes!
I’ve added one of my current favorite superfoods Maca Powder and some Flav Drops (I used Vanilla Flavor from myprotein.com) to really boost the flavors. But to be honest: the riper the Banana- the sweeter the shake. So the Flav Drops are really optional. Maca Powder has a nutty taste, similar to cinnamon and sooo many health benefits.
Since a couple of weeks I’ve been living Dairy Free. That’s why I used a Vegan Protein Powder Vanilla and Coconut Milk . But you’re more than welcome to use whatever protein powder and milk you like. So far I’m liking this non-dairy-life and might stick with it (except for my half & half in my coffee). More about that in another post coming soon 🙂
It’s best if you let your coffee cool down before you mix it in. Brew it first thing in the morning, then brush your teeth/ wash your face/ check your Instagram… (ha, however you design your mornings) and THEN prep your shake! My advice if you use hot coffee: shake with 3 ice cubs in a shaker for 20 seconds and then use a little less liquid for the actual recipe.
